24 Weeks

The Dreaded Glucose Test @ 24 weeks

This morning I had to do the glucose test which screens for gestational diabetes. I had to drink the above beverage in 2 minutes and have my blood drawn 1 hour later. Let me tell you...I had nightmares about this drink. I mean...I've never drank anything in TWO MINUTES!! That's craziness. I had also heard this super sugary drink tastes HORRIBLE! I had visions of myself getting sick right before they drew my blood. So while at the grocery store I had the genius idea to buy straws....they worked like a charm! The drink was gone in just over a minute. Now all I had to do was keep it down for an hour. Clay dropped me off at the lab and went to get breakfast. I had to wait a few minutes, they called me back and drew my blood. As I was walking out Clay pulled in. Everything went just fine! I can finally sleep well tonight! :) Now we just keep our fingers crossed that they don't call with bad news. I really don't want to do this test again!!!
