My New Adventure

Well it's official - I have enrolled in Esthetician School and I start May 20!! I'm so excited. I have been thinking about this and researching it for awhile now. It all started when I was trying to think of something that would be more flexible for our family in the future....it just came to me...I can't pinpoint what exactly made me think of it but the more I thought about it the more I loved the idea!! Needless to say everyone was a little surprised but everyone has been so supportive! My ultimate goal is to open my own salon/spa one day.
I'm sure I'll have great beauty school stories...and I can't wait!! It will be so fun!

When September rolls around I will be able to help you with all of your hair removal needs...oh and facials too!! YAY!

Days of Grace - Day 2

1. My husband letting me follow my dreams
2. Pedicures with friends
3. Saturday mornings at the Bagel Shop
4. Dinner with great friends
5. Mmmm...morning Dr. Pepper!

Days of Grace - Day 1

So I've been reading another blog pretty frequently and she always ...well maybe not always but a lot she posts a list of things she is grateful for that day. It has got me thinking ...what am I grateful for these days?? So here goes....

1. Wonderful family and friends that I can turn to in need
2. My fantastic husband - he's my rock
3. To be able to see my brothers daily - even though it is at work :)
4. Gmail chat - to keep in touch with Jenny!!
5. My job
6. Our great house
7. Our new church home

Okay... wow...I could probably go on...but I think that's a great start!! This might be something I'll keep up!

What are you grateful/thankful for today??

Goodness I have GOT to get better at posting!!

Well....let's see. What has been going on with the Holmboes??
We've been to Dallas for a good friends baby shower. We cashed in some credit card points and stayed at the Ritz!! It was fabulous. I promise to eventually post pictures. We had a little 1 bedroom suite....awesome! It was pretty cool. The Sacramento Kings were in town for a basketball game and we actually rode in the elevator with some of the players! Couldn't tell you who in the world they were but still very cool.
Hhmmm....what else. Oh yes!! My "long lost cousin" from Denver came to town. Long story but I'm so glad she got in touch with us again!! We had a great time. We picked up right where we left off. You would never have known I hadn't seen her since I was 9!! Can you believe that...craziness. I have promised myself to not let that happen again! While she was in town she did acupuncture on us. OMG! Totally amazing. I highly encourage everyone to try it at least once. She targeted my allergies and I must tell you as soon as the needles were in my sinuses cleared and my throat was not itchy AT ALL. It was INCREDIBLE! I wish she could've left those needles in all day. :)
Gosh...I can't think...what else. I'm sure I'll think of other things to share as soon as I post this....but I better get to packing. I'm headed to Dallas tomorrow because I'm a hostess for my dear friend Jenny's shower on Saturday! I can't wait!!! I especially can't wait to meet little Jackson Scott when he comes into this world! YAY!!

Hope everyone is having a great week...tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Oh...and my birthday is coming up very soon!!! Hence the St. Patty's background...love it!

Happy Valentine's Day! ...okay maybe a day or two late :)

Clay and I had a fabulous Valentine's and I know you want to hear all about it!!  We started out the day in Edmond at the Frigid Five.  Clay did a 5 mile run and boy was it frigid!!  It's funny that the day before it was almost 70 and Saturday was in the 30s.  Clay and Chris froze their little tooshies off but they did a great job!  I sat in the car and watched  :)  Good job boys!
That afternoon we drove to Arcadia to eat at Pops.  It was an hour wait but so worth it.  The hamburgers were GREAT!  www.pops66.com  I definitely recommend it.
For dinner Clay picked up steaks and twice baked potatoes from LaBaguette.  OMG!  AMAZING!  I highly recommend buying steaks from the butcher at LaBaguette.  Just about the best steak I've ever had.  After dinner we decided to go up to the Waterford for a little dancing and drinks.  So fun.
I always enjoy a day dedicated to the one I love!!  It's really hard to believe that this was our second married Valentine's.  Time is flying by...I need to stop and take a look around.

Have a great week!!

Wow! Is it really February already?!

Where has the time gone?!  I have no clue.  Well....let's see.  What have the Holmboes been up to??  To start I have been working with my brothers - which is so much fun!  It's great being able to go to work and see my family.  I really love being a part of something that my brother, Tad, is pouring his heart and soul in to.  I'm doing the best I can to keep up.  :)
This past weekend Clay and I went to Vegas.  We go every year for the World of Concrete.  I just tag along for the weekend prior and Clay is there ALL week....blech.  I hated leaving him on Tuesday.  He'll be home soon enough, though.  We had a great time.  We saw Jerry Seinfeld at Caesar's Palace.  He is HILARIOUS!!  I highly recommend seeing his show if you can.  Too funny!!

Hhhmmm...I don't think much else has been going on.  Unfortunately we didn't take many pictures in Vegas.  I need to get better about taking pics!!

Hope everyone is doing fabulous!!  Have a great rest of the week.  :)
